Movin on Up

What comes to mind when you see the words movin on up? If you thought of the Jefferson's theme song, you are correct. However, these words can have several meanings to many people. For instance if your a child, the phrase may mean that you are moving on up the grading scale due to the fact you started paying attention in class and studying. At an amusement park, citizens enjoy the rollercoaster while ascending to the top of the ride. Millions of individuals earn a pay raise which makes them feel as if they are movin on up in society. Large crowds enter WalMart on a daily basis, just to end up in a long, exhuasting, time consuming line which eventually makes them feel all giddy inside just to see that they are moving on up toward the cashier. When you are able to afford a new car or home, others may say that you are Movin on Up. Toddlers often feel that they are moving on up after their parents stop buying diapers and buy them regular underwear. Once a person starts seeing their body change for the worst, they realize that they are moving on up in age. Furthermore, teenagers have the feeling that they are movin on up when they start to date or drive. The saying "Movin on Up" has been around for a long time.
