Underachieving Professional Athletes

There are several teams that have never achieved champion status. Among these teams are players that are still getting paid an enormous salary and living like supreme beings. These professional athletes are on teams that accomplish very few wins per year, but are heavily rewarded for lousy play. They are comfortable just to be able to say they're on a professional sports team. They don't lose any sleep worrying about how to actually better themselves to increase their chances of obtaining a championship. These individuals are content with earning the big bucks, living in luxury, and occasionally being called to play. Do you think for one moment that the teams that aren't successful hate their lives? No, of course not. They are happy to be considered a pro. What job do you know where a person can sit and watch a game while still making millions? Basically the player isn't doing much at all, except waiting to have a chance to play during a game. The athlete no doubt will play their best while in the game. However, it isn't a problem whether they win or lose. They were able to play for a few minutes and retain their professional status. In the back of these players minds, they are aware that there is a possibility of them being traded or waived. Not being in the spotlight, may hurt some egos of the underachieving players. At the end of the day, they may realize that the fans deserve more effort from them. As a result, a major change may happen in the future. It is wrong for any professional athlete to behave in this manner. Players should do more than just show up.

 

Explosive

When you see this word, what comes to mind. Do you automatically think of fire or a bomb?  Have you ever been in a situation when something is constantly bothering you? You decide not to react. However, the same chaotic stuff keeps happening day after day. Before you're able to stop yourself, you explode with a blind rage unknown to the dweller of this earth. I'm sure you've gone to a local restaurant to eat dinner at a buffet. Before you can get into the safety of your home, you begin to feel a slight rumble in your stomach. It  subsides as you get ready to sleep. When you step into your bedroom, you feel the rumble once more. You get in bed and drift into a deep slumber. During your sleep, that slight rumble crescendos into an all out earthquake. You jump out of the bed and run toward the toilet to explode. If stung by a bee, an explosion of pain rushes throughout your nervous system. Fireworks during the Fourth of July celebration often sends numerous sparks of light in the air that are beautiful to see. Kids often experiment with soda and mementos to create a chemical reaction that is truly explosive. During a major traffic accident, everything happens very fast. It seems as though an explosion has transpired right before your eyes. After the Miami Heat won game five against the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA finals, the fans exploded with the emotion of joy and inner bliss. The thought of bringing a championship to the city of Miami sent shock waves throughout the arena. Tears explode from a child's eyes after receiving a shot from a doctor. Can you remember when you were a teenager going through puberty? Well, that was the age of some serious acne. To get rid of a pimple you popped it. The pus inside of it would explode all over your face. If you eat a bean burrito or a huge amount of fiber, you may experience explosions of gas coming from your dairy air. Blood explodes from a fresh cut to the skin. A plumber is called to a home to fix the pipes after a water explosion.When there is a fire, sirens explode throughout the area. A clock that alarms early in the morning sends explosive sound waves into your ear to encourage you to get out of bed in a timely manner. Explosive is a powerful word. Don't worry over small stuff. You have an unique weapon in your voice. If you want to get a person's attention instantly, the only thing that needs to be done is to sound as if your going to explode. The person will know that you mean business. However, be ready to deal with the reaction of the other person. A stomach ache is a bad feeling. It doesn't get any better until the food explodes out of your mouth. Afterwards, you feel like a new person. As I have stated, the word explosive is no joke. What comes to mind for you?






      

Disease

Do you have a disease? How does it affect your life? Are you ashamed of it? Does anyone else know that you have it? Do you feel like a complete failure? Do you have a support system? Are you confined to your home because of it? Has your appearance changed due to being diseased? Does it limit your ability to be mobile? Does it make the decisions or do you? Were you born with the disease? Did someone give it to you? Did you obtain it yourself? Does it really matter? Unfortunately, your still diseased. Life as we know it is so unpredictable. We only have one chance on Earth. When we finally die, it is all over. Most things we endure aren't fair. However, it is totally up to the individual to make the most of one's life. Don't let having a disease bring you down. Everyone is special in their own way. A disease should not define who you are. Life is too short to allow bad circumstances control your every move. Think of having the disease as a challenge that you have to deal with, but not succumb to. There has to be other attributes which you have that outweigh this illness. We go through a series of experiences for a reason. One wrong move can bring about a major change. So why are we still alive? I guess it is to continue to dream of what we can make possible. 

I Want More

Has this phrase ever crossed your mind? Being a human, are we ever truly satisfied? I have to admit I'm rarely content with the possessions I've accomplished over the years. At times, I feel as though I've done extremely well for myself. I followed the advice of those that were concerned about my well being. I finished high school, went to college, obtained my degree, and stayed out of trouble.There isn't much that I haven't done to secure the good life. However, the lingering phrase I want more seems to remain in my daily thoughts. I often wonder why I haven't reached my ultimate goals. I basically know some of the obstacles that stand in my way. These are a never ending battle. Nevertheless, giving up on my dreams aren't an option. I feel that I will always want more. I'm thankful for what I've been blessed with thus far. I just can't shake wanting more of what I don't have. I will continue to strive until I can't muster anything else. I believe the want to get better keeps us all on our toes. Just maybe one day I'll realize that more isn't the solution.  Furthermore I have come to the conclusion, that the only true solution to this problem is to be content with what I have. I have to tune out the outside influences that initially make me want more. We all know that it is impossible to keep up with the Joneses. Therefore, I need to be happy with my own accomplishments.

The Deceased

As a child and a very young adult, I never thought about the deceased. However as I got older, I had no choice. Death seemed to find me. I would think this is normal. Of course, I knew older people died all the time. I never really felt any sorrow until someone close to me passed away. We all know that sooner or later everyone dies. Thus, I had a hard time dealing with loosing someone that I was really close to. My whole world  changed in an instant. I was so naive. I actually thought this special person would live until I got old. Within a span of five years, I had lost three people that were dear to me. I couldn't understand why I had to loose my closest loved ones. It was a struggle to regain the life I once knew. I realized that no one could possess the exact attributes of the individuals I had lost. I treasured my past. However, I knew that it was essential for me to move on with my life. From time to time, I think back to the good times I had with those who are now deceased. It was important for me to have those relationships. This enabled me to be the person I am today. When you think of those you loved that are now deceased, what resonates in your mind? What do you remember? What do you feel? How do you honor the deceased?

That's not all folks, you are also taught a very cool color changing deck routine. It is probably the most visual ever. However it has a setup. The only drawback could be you. You must introduce this in a creative way or it will create suspicion. 

Cons: Can't be completely inspected. Can be lightly inspected. Must be introduced.

Pros: As close to real magic as it gets. No setup for the Ambitious Card ending. No possible explanation.

My Experience 


I recently moved to a new town. I have been doing magic for about three years. I am really good at what I do. One day I happened to walk into the local mall. I wasn't there to do magic, but I had a couple of effects on me at the time. I really wasn't sure what this mall had to offer so I walked around for a little bit. I noticed there was a children's recreation place. It had laser tag, bounce houses, arcade games, and etc. I went in to see what it was all about. I went to the front desk. I asked her what the place was. After that I introduced myself and explained I wasn't from the area. Soon after I showed her and her boss a couple of magic tricks. They were amazed. They were in complete awe. I didn't ask for employment, but she gave me an application. She said that I was just what that place needed. She told me to fill out an application. I did and turned it in within three days. A week passed and nothing happened. That week I went to JCPennys. Since I was in the mall I decided to step in to the children's recreational place. They told me to get a show together and come in and show it to them when it was ready. At the time I was loaded with school work. After I got done with the work I began to focus on the magic. I spent the next two weeks gathering tricks for the show and rehearsing. The Friday of that week I walked into the shop. There was a different lady at the desk this time, but the owner of the store was still there. I later found out the new lady was his wife. I was led to setup at a nearby table. By the time I had gotten setup they told me to come back another day. I told him I would be back soon because I wanted to start performing because of what he and the lady had told me the first day. He then told me "who said you would ever do that, what made her tell you that". In my mind I was thinking "you were there,you witnessed my magic, why are you a different person". He also said that my mom would have to be present and she would have to give me permission to perform there. My mom was in the car. I brought her into the establishment. When she was in there he acted like he didn't even know why I was there. He was acting like I was never supposed to be in there place. My mom and I saw that things were going no where so we ended the conversation politely and left.

Success is the Best Revenge


The next day we traveled to a nearby town. We shopped around and went a local bar-b-que restaurant. I again happened to have a few effects on me. I showed a silk vanish to a waitress. She then told a cook about it. Five minutes later she came around with  the cook. I then performed the silk vanish again. They were completely blown away. Then I went to the buffet got some food. While at the buffet a different cook asked me about the trick. I ate for the next twenty minutes. When I was finished I asked the waitress if I could show her  another trick. She said she needed to fix up some tea but she would be back. She didn't fix any tea. She returned in less than a minute with two cooks, two waitresses, and the manager. I was asked to perform the silk vanish again. I did, but that wasn't the only trick I had. I was asked to do another trick so I performed a multiple dollar bill change with a story. After they watched the bills change the were in awe. My story telling was good too. When we were about to leave I asked if I could start working there as a walk around magician. The manager told me her parents own the store, but they will most likely have no problem with me working there. I gave her my number and she told me she would contact me about it. I will let you guys know the results when she gives me a call.

How much fat is too fat?

Do you have the answer to this odd question? Have you ever wondered when will the symptoms of illness start due to being overweight? What makes an individual realize that now is the time to change the body frame? When you can barely bend over to tie your shoes or put on a pair of pants without gasping for air, when you get extremely tired from walking a flight of stairs, when you can't sit in a normal restaurant  booth seat, or when nothing you currently have in your closet fits all these things are signals that something must be done. Lets ponder for a moment folks. If fat is a dirty word when said about someone, than what causes one to remain in such a horrible state. Is it genetics? Is it boredom? Is it the lack of knowledge of how to rid the extra pounds? Whatever the case maybe you would think the love for life itself would cause a major concern in anyone with too much body fat.

  

Magic Reviews: Tag by JB Magic

Magic Dealers Description: A card is freely selected, signed and lost in the deck. An indifferent card is shown and punched with a hole punch. A signed tag is looped through the hole and tied on. The card is placed back into the deck for a split second while the tag is held by the spectator. The tag is pulled and attached to it is now the signed card.

My Experience: Tag is a very cool effect that will impress spectators. The impossibility of the effect just elevates to one of the top card effects you can do. This effect is easy. However, you will need to practice in order to get used to the feel of the gimmick. Also Mark Mason teaches on the instructional DVD how to make other gimmicks for any type of deck you may use.  Blue or black decks work best due to the nature of the gimmick. Unfortunately this effect has one major flaw. You are  supplied with around 10-20 tags once you run out that's it until you find a place that sells them.

Pros: The outcome of the effect will leave them in awe. It is also easy to do with practice.

Cons: There are a limited amount of tags.

Sex

If your out in public and someone hears you mention the word sex, they may act as if you said something awful. What could  possibly be wrong with sex? If it weren't for sex, none of us would ever exist. Too many individuals are scared to talk about sex.Of course there are several pros and cons on the subject. However, sex is a major part of our lives. As a kid growing up in today's society, would you rather learn about sex from peer pressure, school, or parents? I would guess the vast majority would say parents. If we openly discussed it, there would ultimately be less disease, rape, and adolescent child birth. Kids would know how to protect themselves from a potential child molester. However, we all know that healthy sex is good for the body. Without reproduction humans, animals, insects, and sea creatures would become extinct. Furthermore, sex is an essential part of our lives whether we want to admit it or not. We shouldn't think of it as a bad thing. Sex is actually something that we need to fulfill that sensual urge. We just have to be wise about our decisions before becoming intimate with another individual. What ways do you think sex inadvertently effects you?

My Experience: You will actually do this trick. I guarantee you. In the instructions you will learn an awesome effect as well as a color change and a force. I have gotten great reactions from this effect. You will to. It starts out as an ambitious card routine so use one you already know. The one in the manuscript is very basic. Like always just use a little creativity. 


Pros: The effect is visually shocking, easy to do, and the gaffs included are of good quality.


Cons: The only thing I worry about with this trick is the reset. It is not immediately reset and that is its only fault.

Disappointed

When you were much younger, I'm sure you thought you'd have so much of life's assets. However as you got older, you realized what life was really about. Being a youngster at one time, you were naive. You probably thought that by the age of twenty that you'd have accomplished your wildest dreams. Wow, why can't a person achieve their goals in a limited time span. It takes some a lifetime. While others never obtain the simple necessities one needs to survive. It is sad, but unfortunately it is true. The majority of people waking up each morning, come to the realization that life isn't fun anymore. Their whole being screams for a spark that would get them feeling better about themselves. How does one change their disappointing life to begin living again?
